This
is a real classic T-Bone style ending. It is played in the Minor Pentatonic
(Box 1) but use your first finger to move down to the notes in the 7th fret
and your little finger for the note in the 11th fret. The two ending chords
are C6 and C9 which are a classic blues combination for both ending and
vamping (rhythm playing). Notice that the shape is the same, and you can
slide into the first chord and down to the second (use the fingering 2-1-3).
Key: G
This
T-Bone styled lick uses the trademark minor 3rd to Major 3rd trick (the
first two notes, Bb and B). It is again in the Minor Pentatonic (Box 1)
as is most of T-Bones licks. The min 3rd to Maj 3rd trick is used by T-Bone
a lot, but he has many ways to use it, as you will see. You should notice
that this lick uses 16th notes but is not particularly fast.
Key: G
This
lick shows how T-Bone uses similar licks but changes the feel, dynamic,
tempo or ending to create what seems like a new lick but is more like a
variation. This one is very similar to the lick above but uses a triplet
feel instead of 16th notes. Notice too that the first note is a grace note
and is played very quickly before the note that follows it.
