Try
to let the notes ring together a bit to make this sound right. It is a really
nice trick and uses the notes from a C7 chord (first three notes) and then
a C13 (second three notes). This can be used as a lead line in a solo or
as a rhythm guitar part. Experiment with it yourself. The fingering (in
note order) is 2, 4, 1 then 3, 1, 4.
Key: G
This
one uses the Mixolydian Mode quite predominantly, but of course the min
3rd- Maj 3rd thing is present. This is more in the style of T-Bones later
playing when the lines got longer and flowed even more than they had initially.
Make sure you get the tempo even and practice it slowly and build up the
tempo over time.
Key: C
This
lick is quite simple technically, but can be pretty hard to get sounding
"just right". It is a good example of how even a very simple pentatonic
lick can sound wicked. Experiment with this idea yourself and try to make
up some of your own pentatonic repeating licks. Usually you start and end
on different notes to the ones that you are repeating, just because it sounds
better!
