Help me help you and thousands of others!
Help keep this site free for those that can't afford to donate...
This site runs on a honour system. It is the only way that I can provide high quality lessons to those who have no money and could never afford lessons. You would be amazed how many emails I get from people in the developing world and from South America and India that could not afford to pay a web site or a teacher for lessons. This site is free for them.
If you can afford to contribute then you should. It is really appreciated and really means that I can make a difference, make this site grow into the best resource for guitar players, and keep it free. I place hardly any ads on the site cos I think they make it look tacky (even the few I had on my old site...) but I will have to add more if people do not donate more than they currently do.
The site (as of Jan 2008) gets between 10,000 and 20,000 visitors a day, and most days I don't get a donation at all. If you can afford it - these lessons are not free :) Don't be one of the thousands of freeloaders if you are doing ok, got a good job and a couple of guitars!!
Every bit makes a difference - if every user gave me $10 then I could take a year out and just work on the site! Can you imagine what an awesome resource this could be, hundreds of lessons, and a whole community... Think how much you save by not having to pay for lessons... or buy books... :)
As you can imagine this site has taken many many hours of work for me, and I will be happy to give it many more, but it does need funding!!
But I appreciate there are many of you that have little or no money - if that is you, then you are the people I want to help with this site the most! So don't feel obliged to pay if you can't afford to - practice a lot, get amazing, make loads of money, and then give me some ;)... Check out some other options below if you are keen to help.
Have I convinced you yet??? :)
Thanks in advance :)
Please select a currency below to make your donation....
The above links all use Paypal - the most secure way of exchanging money on the internet in my opinion. See the Paypal site here for further information on how they keep things secure.
No Paypal??
If you don't like or want to use paypal, you can send cash UK cheque or International money orders to me care of the Guitar Institute (The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance).

Other Ways to help our justinguitar.com community grow :)
If you can't afford to donate you can also help me with the following... If you think of something else you can do then please get in touch.
Associates If you plan to buy any books from Amazon (.co.uk or .com) then please click through from my site to buy from there (check out the Recommended area). I get a small percentage which has up until now helped pay the hosting for the site. Check out my recommended stuff too - I'm not pushing it to you, but I have only recommended stuff I really think is great, so it may well be worth a look.
Checking out the google ads that interest you also helps.
Spread The Word The more visits I get the more I can charge for the few ads I put up - more time I get to do lessons. Easy. It also means more people will benefit from the site. :)
Spreading the word can take lots of forms:
1. Tell your friends.
2. Tell your local music store - ask them to tell others too...
3. Tell your guitar teacher (if you still have one...) and ask them to help too.
4. Tell your school teachers (there are lots of schools all over that use this site)
4. Print out my POSTER (480Kb) and put it up in your school or college, music shop, local store, wherever people might see it.
5. Print out my page of SMALL CARDS (340Kb), cut them up and distribute wherever you can...
Publicity The best way to reach lots of people is through the media. Know someone in radio, your local paper, or a tv station? Then mention to them that there is a guy giving free lessons on the web - really free, no subscriptions and no pushing justinguitar products down your throats :)
Send some emails to people at TV and radio stations and ask that they check out the site - there ain't much free in the world these days - does make an interesting story...
The BBC World TV channel has an international program that features web sites, called Click - it would be great to get on the show - you can help by emailing them and tell them what a great site this is and how much it helps you - click@bbc.co.uk Thanks.
If you know of any web site review magazines or web sites - please submit my site!
Link To justinguitar.com Got your own web site? adding a link to this site helps in many ways. Link to your favorite page or just to the url.
Use The Internet Tell people on other guitar forums about this site - but do not slag off other sites, that is not cool. Just let people know that they don't have to pay to get quality lessons. Keep it real - hang out a bit - you might even meet some cool new people too and learn some stuff :) They might well delete your post pretty soon, but worth a try - don't be rude and don't be too persistent - it might give our community a bad name...
Just be honest - if you like what I do here - let people know :)
You might try making www.justinguitar.com part of your "signature" by typing it under your name at the end of your posts - rather than just blatant promotion.
Thanks again - take care and happy days
J
