How to play Hold On by Tom Waits

SB-104 • Hold On - Tom Waits

The Justinguitar.com Songbook Series

Just like a bullet leaves a gun

Beautiful Tom Waits ballad, easy to play at a basic level but to get a great touch and right dynamics is a longer journey!

Note that the original is actually played in drop D and on electric guitar. You can use the same accent pattern, with a bit more palm mute and letting some notes ring through and with a little reverb it sounds awesome! The chord grips if in drop D become:

D = 0 0 4 2 3 2
G = 5 x 0 0 0 3
Em = 2 2 2 0 0 0
A = x 0 2 2 2 0 (standard)

Hope you dig!
