The split switch on your red strat, is it worth putting one in?
I am pretty handy with electronics and have designed a circuit that will let me switch between a humbucker in parallel, series and as a single coil, as well as putin it out of phase.
But i am wondering if spliting a humbucking pickup to a single coil is worth it? or shud i just put in a single coil?

I think they don't make it any more - but there is one in my telecaster too.... hmmm....

Google time.....

So it's called a Hot Stack now - used to be a cool stack - or it was a different model...

The one in my tele is thins - looks the same...

http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/electric/stratocaster/progressive/hot_stack_for_s/

Hope that helps...

Single split switches are great - or in my sunburt strat I have the tone control sweeping between single and humbucker - so I can have tones inbetween the usual!

My red strat is a 1980's Strat Plus Deluxe. The sunburst one is a USA but I have no idea on the year... it's got  little 69 humbucker in it though and funny wiring...

Hey Justin, I am happy to be a part of your community and I have been following your lessons for some time, but this will be my first msg ever in the forum.

I like your Telecaster very much indeed, but do you recommend to make business with that "Ralph & Sandy's Custom Shop" ? I know that you were not happy with the setup when it had arrived and you mentioned that you had spend extra money and time to get the setup work properly, but was it the setup itself or the labor quality on the setup? I am very enthusiast to have a telecaster such as yours. If you are totally not happy with the "Ralph & Sandy's Custom Shop", then do you have any other regular or custom shop(s) to recommend? Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

NG

Hi NG.
Until Justin, or others, answer your question, take a look at the ASAT series made by G & L guitars. This is the company that Leo Fender formed after leaving Fender. They make some sweet guitars.

I wasn't happy with the R & S CS Tele set up. The parts were good, but at that price I don't wanna have to spend another 150 pound on a set up... and their customer service was total crap, well non existant.

I gave the sunburt strat to Jedi for Xmas, so probably won't do a vid on that one!

No I can't recommend a guitar... only you know what guitar you like!
