Tobaiy I luuuuurve my MM - I have the Diesel Special with the AA Spruce top - but now I'm just bragging

To answer your question I find it easier to play fingerstyle on the MM than my other guitars - the smaller scale size (it has only 19 frets) makes chords easier to form and notes easier to sound. When I get frustrated trying to get a piece right on my dreadnought size Messiah I pull out the MM and it restores my confidence. The only thing that took me a little while to get the hang of is the headstock is really tight for space at the nut so playing something like an E Major chord you feel your thumb and index finger up against the headstock - no big deal - I just found it a bit odd at first.
As much as I love my MM - you might also want to consider the Maton EBG808 (I have the TE model) it is more a concert size and apart from the AP5 Mic system (which sounds absolutely awesome plugged) it is THE most comfortable shaped/sized guitar I've ever played on my knee and unplugged it has a little more oomph than the MM.
Mrs Bootstrap always rather unkindly reckons that when I play the MM it looks like a "pimple on a pumpkin".
As for portability - if that is the major criterion then the MM is the way to go but the the 808 is also significantly smaller than a dreadnought.
To sum up - if portability is the most improtant thing then the MM is the way to go. If comfort, playability and sound have currency then consider the 808 (don't get me wrong though the MM more than holds its own in these things) - or buy both

For the best price and great customer service google Hans Music Spot in Croydon Victoria AU - send Peter Mayer an email asking for his best price. NB I have no financial interest in this business - I'm just an extremely satisfied customer. NB no 2 - Just because he might not advertise something on the the website doesn't mean he cant get it - the shop actually isn't very far from the Maton factory and Peter goes down personally to select the best available from the factory stock.
You wont regret it.
Cheers, Bootstrap
