I'm finding this stage tricky, so perhaps you good people can help me on a couple of points:

1. I am finding the transition to air changes very hard, I can kind of do them slowly but when I do one minute changes I can't seem to stop myself doing my fingers 123. Is this normal, will it suddenly click with practise?

2. I have an acoustic and an electric and have recently been alternating them while practising with a view to being as good (for me) at both, but I am wondering if this is the best approach, would it be better to practise mostly on one, if so which?

Thanks.

Hi GaryBee

with regard to question 1 it is quite normal for air changes to take a while. I remember when i first did them i thought they were impossible however just keep doing them slowly and eventually you will get there with them. You could lay off the minute changes for a bit until you can mogve all your fingers at the same time easily and then you could incorporate this into the minute changes.

With regard to question 2 i would reccomend playing both. This means that you will get used to both which i think is the best thiong to do. they will have different neck sizes and the acoustic will probably have thicker strings so your safest bet is to be able to play everything comfortably on both. Later on you may have to use one more than the other for certain things as some techniques may be used more on an electric than an acoustic however with the begineers course i would just stick with both. Hope this helps.

Thanks samkel123

It really helps morale to hear from someone who has already done it.

Cheers.
