Hi everyone just wanted to say, I'm new here and just got my first guitar last week. It's 3/4 Yamaha JR1, we got a starter guitar for me of course, my name is Patrick and I'm 9 years old.

  hi patrick.welcome to the forum, 9 years old great time to start.
   this is a great site and i hope you stick with it,everyone is helpfull so don.t be afraid to ask if you get stuck, no matter how silly the question is.
  so go to the begginers couse and run through it slowly and don't move onto next lesson till your ready

Finally found a instructor   my first lesson is on friday Smiley

man i wish i started playing when i was nine. and yes your fingers will hurt, its normal so don't start a topic about calluses or your fingertips hurting lol.  other than that ask away about anything that pops into your head.

My instructor said in about a  month i should have calluses. Smiley

in about a month you will have things that sort of kind of resemble calluses lol you don't get real tough calluses for a while.  like i can play for about 12 hours now before my fingers start hurting.  but that took a while. mostly cause i used to play about 8 hours a day over the summer lol
