Songs For Lesson 2

Difficulty: White

Now that you’ve got the A, D, and E chords firmly under your belt, there are loads – and I mean LOADS! – of songs you can play!

If you pop over to my Beginner Song Course App, you can find some songs that you can play along with that fit right in with this lesson - there are lots to choose from and you can adjust the speed of the play along to suit your chord change speed. Look for the songs in 'Stage 1'. Playing along with a backing track is much more fun than playing with a metronome and it will REALY help you with your timing and strumming. Here are some of the songs in the app you could check out. Those with links have lessons on the site too which might show you more fancy options and things you can do to grow with the song and not just a simple version!

It's super important to play music that you love and that you find inspiring! It’s a great way to stay motivated in your guitar playing, especially in these early stages. Of course, it's worth exploring new music too, you never know what you’ll discover, and you might find and artist that you really dig and want to get more into.

Here's a spotify playlist of many of the songs you can play with just your E, D and A chords, though for some of these you might need to use a Capo (something we'll check out more in the very next lesson!).

Also, if you can’t seem to find your favourite song or genre in the app, let me know! I’ll do my best to expand on it. The goal is for everyone to find something that resonates with them there.

My Beginner Songbooks (like proper paper books) have many songs to check out too - they were written for my previous beginner course so songs with A, D and E are in "Stage 1" and include:

Songs From The JustinGuitar Beginner Songbook Volume 1:
