OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL by Bob Seger

This classic rock n roll song Bob Seger from 1981 works great for beginners when simplified to use just A, D and E chords but is also a grower, you can use the rock n roll shuffle on it (covered later in the beginner course) and even play it as a bar chord shuffle (much harder!).

You do need to Capo right up on the 9th fret to play along with the original which makes it pretty awkward to cram the fingers into the frets (but can be good to practice occasionally!) so you'll probably be more likely to be playing and singing along yourself. The vocal on the original recording is very high too so playing in this key should make it easier for anyone to sing along.

If you want to learn about the shuffle strumming (rock n roll) then check out this lesson in the Beginner's Course. Have fun! :)

Guitar
For this lesson I'm using my Suhr Classic with pickup selector in position 5 (bridge humbucker). I back the volume off a bit to clean the sound up if I'm strumming and play a little softer too.

Amp
I'm using the Kemper Profiler for this lesson using the 62 Luxe Reverb profile by M Britt. I boosted the gain to about 5 to get a little more crunch for the shuffle style examples.

Effects
Just a bit of reverb in the Kemper.
