On this page, you can find all the songs I have on the whole site! Below you can search for song or artist in the search box, or you can use the filters to check out songs by Difficulty, Tags, Genre or if songs appear in one of my Songbooks. Sort by Artist, Title or Grade or date added!

I add new songs most weeks, so check back often and join the community to request a song - or watch out for my "Request Fests" on Facebook or YouTube.

Defining the difficulty and 'grade' for a song is very difficult. What I have tried to do is add a recommended starting point where a student should have enough skill to get started playing the song with simplified chords and strumming.

Many early grade beginner songs are 'growers' that can be started fairly easily but to master and play really well may take a more skilled player! So advanced players shouldn't always snub the songs that seem easy!

White: Very easy songs.
Only 8 chords: A E D G C Am Dm Em

Yellow: Still easy.
Adds 7 chords, sus chords, Fmaj7

Orange: Easy, but with tricky bits.
Includes F, Power Chords & Slash Chords.

Green: Some with 16th note rhythms.
Likely to use E Shape Barre Chords

Blue: Gig level, and more complex rhythms.
Use both E and A Shape Barres

Purple: Harder pub band kind of songs!
Basic Jazz Chords, Chord Inversions, CAGED Shapes

Red / Brown / Black: No set chords or techniques, based on overall difficulty!

There is no 'danger' in beginners attempting songs that are 'too hard' other than frustration at finding it very difficult! Learning guitar should be fun and if you love a song and are prepared to work hard at it - just do it! Think of it as a long-term project and learn some easy stuff you can play right away too!
